Job DescriptionJob DescriptionHouse Paws Animal Hospital is looking for a dependable, compassionate, and motivated full-time Veterinary Assistant to join our team.Veterinary experience is preferred, but it is not required. We are happy to train the right person who has a strong work ethic, enjoys learning, communicates well, and genuinely wants to become an important part of a veterinary team.The PositionThis is a 40-hour-per-week.Our veterinary assistants work closely with the veterinarian, licensed veterinary technician, clients, and other members of our team. Responsibilities may include:Assisting with patient appointments and examinationsSafely handling and restraining dogs and catsPreparing patients and treatment areas for proceduresAssisting with laboratory testing and sample collectionCleaning, stocking, and maintaining treatment and patient areasHelping with hospitalized and recovering patientsCommunicating professionally and compassionately with clientsMaintaining accurate patient informationSupporting the veterinary team throughout the dayWho We’re Looking ForWe’re looking for someone who is:Dependable and punctualKind and compassionate with both animals and peopleComfortable working as part of a teamAble to take direction and learn new proceduresDetail-oriented and organizedComfortable in a busy medical environmentWilling to ask questions and continue learningProfessional when communicating with clients and coworkersWe have established medical and patient-care protocols and provide training in how things are done in our practice.
